Structured Settlement Series — Part 2: How Do I Choose a Structured Settlement Company?
You’ve decided you want to sell your structured settlement or annuity. Now what?
Selecting a structured settlement company can be very overwhelming and confusing. Here are some simple steps to help you decide which company is the best fit for you.
Research any company you are considering. The internet is full of very helpful resources and information, so take advantage of it!
Look at what their better business bureau site tells you, see what previous customers on consumer review sites have to say, look at the history of the company and the current employees and even do a Google or Bing search of their name to see if any lawsuits or bad information come up.
After you narrow your list to a few companies, call them. Speak to the representatives and get a feel for not just their knowledge, but their personality.
You want to select the company whose representative is an expert, can clearly answer all questions and makes you feel comfortable.
We have customers who received a slightly higher offer from someone else, but had a great connection with us, knew we were the experts and were the best fit for them, however, they chose another company. About 2 weeks later, they called us back because they didn’t enjoy working with that company and wanted to move forward with Fairfield instead.
Obtain quotes from your short list of companies. This is where your input is really important.
The representative should take the time to listen to your needs and goals and come up with a purchase plan that meets your current and future goals! Don’t be afraid to ask questions and get multiple ideas.
Now is the moment! It’s time to make a decision.
The best thing you can do is move forward with the company who gives you a fair and competitive offer, is knowledgeable, has great customer reviews and makes you feel comfortable.
There are many structured settlement and annuity companies who you could choose to do business with, and we’d be honored to make your short list. Give us a call today to talk to one of our experts and learn more about how Fairfield can partner with you through this process.
